Ten lay ministers were licensed in the Diocese of  Rochester, Church of England on May 10, 2025. The service was held at the Rochester Cathedral. The Licencees are Marius Carboni, Janet Smirkle, Joannie Gould, Tim Harrold, Kanda Howick, Julie Portland, Sue Shep, Andrew Hill, Terry Whittaker and Seye Adetunmbi.
IT IS LORD’S DOING
It's the day the Lord has made, and it is marvellous in my eyes. I rejoice on the Licensed Lay Ministry, and I am very glad in it. Psalm 118:23-24.
My licensing as a Lay Minister in the Church of England is the Lord’s doing indeed.
It is a thing of joy for me that I am given the opportunity to grow more, spiritually and continue with what I have been doing over the years by making it possible for me to be of service in the vineyard of God through the lay ministry in the United Kingdom. I sincerely appreciate the Diocese of Rochester for this privilege.
As a keen churchman, I derive happiness from being able to deploy my God-given talents among the Christian faithfuls and for the benefit of the mankind generally. With the conviction that God made this possible, I believe that my heavenly father will empower me with the enablement to function fruitfully as a licensed lay minister.
It is a call to duty, and I am humbled by being deemed worthy of being charged with the tasks ahead. To whom much is given, much is expected. This has further inspired me to be more committed to my callings as a servant of God. It was certainly a spirit lifting day for me.
Hearty congratulations to my other colleagues inaugurated to the Lay Ministry on May 10, 2025, in England. May God bless our minitries in Jesus Christ’s name, amen.

On CHRISTIANITY AND ANGLICANISM the book written by Seye Adetunmbi, The Right Reverend Peter Bryan Price wrote:
..I have had a quick look and I like much of what I see particularly your interrogative style on the commandments and the beatitudes. A very good way of teaching. - Rt. Rev. Peter Bryan Price, Southwark Diocese, London 3/7/22
The Right Reverend James Olusola Odedeji, the Lord Bishop of Lagos West Anglican Diocese wrote:

Anglican Communion is one orthodox (standard) Church that has  been gravely misunderstood, especially with what appears to be a deliberate distortion of facts and mischievous campaign of calumny in recent decades against its time-tested doctrines (beliefs) and tradition (practices) by those whose idea of evangelism is primarily focused on converting the converted for membership drift in favour of their “new” Church movement and denominations.

This is the reason I will ever be glad to see and endorse every addition to myriad of subsisting titles on Anglicanism, which of course, teaches its doctrinal biblicality and project the essence of its rich tradition, thereby reinforcing the confidence of the Anglican Church faithfuls in their Church beliefs and practices while positively educating the minds of those outside the Communion with truths about the Anglican Church they see and probably do not know or have been made to loathe and unjustly despise.

It is for this reason I cannot but express my delight in having this singular privilege of writing the foreword to this justifiable literary effort by my brother, friend and co-labourer, Bro. Seye Adetunmbi, in defense of the Christian faith and our own cherished Anglican heritage.

Being a son of a Church prelate notwithstanding, Bro. Seye’s display of interest and knowledge of the foundation of the Christian faith vis-a-vis the historic formulary of the Church is quite enthralling and commendable, especially for a laity that is yet to be exposed to core seminary curriculum.

The author in this six-section book addresses a plethora of issues bothering on the Christian faith, Anglicanism, Theology, Doctrines, Holy Communion, Christian Service and Spirituality, and lace them with glossary of Christian terminologies and extracts of useful information about the Anglican Church structure and history.

For all purpose and intent, this book promises to be more than just a Christian literature or prose; reading through it tempts one to want to pass it for a Christian’s Handbook.

It is in the light of our appreciation of the factual content and spiritual import of this literary work that we commend it to you for reading and appropriation of its associated blessings.

The Right Reverend Isaac Olatunde Olubowale, the Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Ekiti-Oke wrote:

For Seye Adetunmbi, this is grace for actualizing his passion for fulfilling his mission and ministry. A short narrative of how he came about writing this book is coherently expressed in his Prologue.

Christianity and Anglicanism – A Handbook for Believers in Christian Faith, epitomizes a unique learning experience, shaped in Six sections, with Annexes, Index and what you need to know about the author. The book is a product of a background of remarkable experiences to underscore the fact that God works in a mysterious way.  The Author sees it as a fulfilment of destiny upon him with reminiscences of cumulative events from age 10.  Thanks be to God for his visionary Venerable Father, Chief D. O. Adetunmbi and other mentors on his path to growth and development. Certainly, the Bible is true in saying: Proverb 22:6 “Train a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”.

Christianity and Anglicanism – A Handbook for Believers in Christian Faith is written to foster a deeper understanding of Biblical truth, History, Doctrine, Christianity and the Church etc. in a world where Christianity is misunderstood and often dented, by people, powers, and forces that shape modern-day society. In the author’s words “This book to a reasonable extent is a response to bridge the yawning gap between the way the older generation was brought into Christianity and the way the new generation understands what Christianity is all about”. However, this book, or its author, does not claim to have all the answers; to the subjects treated therein; it offers you introductory thoughts to start you on your way to a more thorough understanding of its content and all that tend to godly manliness.

Who will benefit from this one volume colosseum? Those willing to live the lifestyle of Christians to positively encourage people around them. Impact positively, all aspects of the social and societal life as individuals and the nation, even to the uttermost part of the earth. Those contemplating response to call to the ordained ministry, will gain a taste of what lies ahead. Those in ministry who have had neither time nor opportunity for a form al program will surely deepen their biblical, ecclesiastical, doctrinal, and theological knowledge. For laypersons who serve in the Church as ancillary to the ordained ministers, will derive joy in serving the Lord when they go through this book. The fact remains that what you put into the study of these chapters will have a direct bearing on what you take out.

This book is for the equipping of the Saints Militant. The Christian life calls for more than mere knowledge. We can be highly educated and still lack the faith, the courage, and the humility God desires. When we understand God and about the life to which we are called, the less likely we are to be tossed about on the seas of popular opinion, dubious doctrine, or self-indulgent living. Ephesians 4:11-16. We thank Seye Adetunmbi for yielding himself to God for this timely, unique, great, and godly work of the moment. May you increase in anointing in Jesus’ name.

To the numerous Readers, we say, welcome to Christianity and Anglicanism – A Handbook for Believers in Christian Faith.  May what you read, mark, experience, and inwardly digest in this volume, inspire your mind, open your heart, and enrich your soul. Make you fruitful in godly Christian services to humanity to the glory of God. Amen. As children of God, it is obligatory that we should strive to know all we can about our heavenly Father, His ways and His will for our lives; and transmit the same; following Paul’s counsel in 2Timothy 2:2. We therefore send out Christianity and Anglicanism – A Handbook for Believers in Christian Faith.  In the name of God, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

THE DIOCESE OF EKITI OKE
SECOND SESSION OF THE FIFTH SYNOD
The theme of the 2018 Synod is apt and remarkable. It speaks to a current disturbing trend in Nigeria that requires prompt intervention before it consumes the nation when it degenerates to a regrettable state. In the charge of the Lord Bishop of Ekiti Oke Diocese, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion; The Right Reverend Isaac Olatunde Olubowale scholarly addressed the theme: Biblical Solution to Herdsmen/Farmers' Clash for National Peace, Stability, Growth and Development" with a distinct and applied spiritual touch. The Lord Bishop clinically brought out the issues, supported with the appropriate scriptures towards instituting a lasting solution to the national problem in the most pragmatic manner. It is a must read for Nigerians. St Paul's Anglican Church hosted the synod.
